Want to feel more energised? Your wardrobe has the answer

Hello beautiful!

By now, you’ve probably realised the way I see style is definitely not the typical way.

Yes, I want to help you look ah-mazing & stylish without putting much effort into it.

And yes, I want to take you out of that wardrobe victim situation and help you take the drivers seat when it comes to dressing in a way that makes you feel confident and capable of doing anything.

The thing is, I believe following the general style rules will never EVER help you get to that final line.

At least not in a complete way.

I believe the way we dress has to be 100% connected to the way we are and not the way it’s convenient, plain and simple.

What do I mean by that?
It means putting some thought into what you wear or choose to put into your closet, instead of buying that convenient black t-shirt you saw in Target the other day when you went shopping for clothes for your kids.

It also means putting your self-care first, not at a convenient time.

It means saying goodbye to buying any “piece of fabric to cover your body” and instead, intentionally buying clothes that are meant to be worn by YOU, not by Ms. Convenience.

The power of this shift was something that I always taught to my clients but never fully understood until I had my first boy.

2 months after giving birth, when all the newborn hype was starting to fade, I realised my body wasn’t magically “bouncing back” as a result of breastfeeding (Did you also believed that BIG celebrity lie!?)

But that’s only the external aspect of it.

Looking in the mirror every day and noticing something had shifted, I kept listening to this voice saying: “you’re not the same woman anymore”.

And then all the negative self-talk would follow after that: you look fat, you didn’t do enough, how are you going to dress this body? Blah, blah, blah.
Which lead me to the one sentence that would shape the way I felt every single day: you’re not enough.

One day I had an epiphany, I realised I fell into the rabbit hole of judging myself, instead of LOVING my self.

“Now you need to honour a new version of yourself”, I said to myself.

It was the moment when I surrendered, realised dressing for who I was at that moment, inside-out was THE empowering way of honouring who I was.
And I did know a thing or two about HOW to do it ;P
Now, that’s how my beloved Style Power School was born.

Once I overcame that barrier I felt so good!
A couple of years later we decided to go for baby number 2, thinking I had it all figured it out, I truly believed this time I wouldn’t fall into that funk again

How difficult could it be?
Little did I know, I was about to get into the hardest time of my life.
2 months after having bub #2, my light started to fade. I wasn’t myself.
I was feeling tired and sad, very sad.

I couldn’t help but looking at other mums and thinking
WHY me?
Why did I decide to be a mother in the first place?
Clothes? Forget it, why would I even get dressed!?
The world doesn’t mean anything to me anymore.

Yes, that’s how bad I was into depression, or what Dr Oscar Serrallach would call, postnatal depletion.
My body was out, and so, my mind was out.

My willpower was the ONLY thing that would keep me going; that’s it.
I’m quite a stubborn one, and I was determined to get to the bottom of this health journey.

And again, my wardrobe played a big part in helping me move through the hardest time of my life.

8 out of 10 days, I would look into my closet and think
What would I wear if my mind was in the right state?
And so, that’s what I would wear.
That question was my anchor to start putting pieces together at the beginning of my day.

I would first try to connect to how I wanted to feel, not wanting to let my mind rule the game.

WHY was I able to do this?:
- Because my closet allowed me to tap into the real me and raise my energy levels.
- My wardrobe is full of clothes that are 100% aligned with ME, the very essence of ALMA.
The colours, the fabrics, the textures… are 100% ME.

- Each colour carries a certain energy, and your unique colour palette carries an energy that’s 100% connected with you. That’s the reason my closet is full of clothes that belong to MY palette.

- Fabrics: I’m a feeler. I can’t stand cheap or rough fabrics. It doesn’t mean I spend a fortune on my clothes, but I try to buy good quality that lasts and FEELS good. So, putting on a plain cotton t-shirt at the time would soothe my mind. Natural fabrics carry a higher vibration than cheap ones; therefore they will raise your energy levels too.

Having a wardrobe designed to honour every aspect of yourself will infuse you with an extra dose of energy every single day.

We know the way you think and the way you feel is easily perceivable by the way you express yourself (non-verbal communication).

But something not many people know is that when you work the other way around, from the outside-in, the connection STILL works!!!!!!!

We all have our days and having a wardrobe full of clothes that will support you every day, good or bad, is KEY for you to shine no matter what’s going on.

This week, honouring PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia) week, I have opened Style Power School and decided to donate 20% of the sales to this cause SO close to my heart.

Let me tell you that I believe I do what I do because

There’s unlimited power in taking good care of the way you look to tap into your world-changer alter ego.

I believe I’m here to support you in that journey and cheer you on as you light up the world with your stunning vibe.

If you value beauty, would love to have an innate sense of style and want to feel more energised every single morning…
Then go ahead and follow my lead, start honouring who you are in the way you dress!
